KYOCERA Document Solutions Inc. (President: Takashi Nagai) announces that it will exhibit at the 42nd MILANO UNICA 2027 SS (Spring / Summer) to be held in Milan, Italy.
Milano Unica is an internationally renowned trade fair for high-end fashion textiles and accessories. Held twice a year (SS and AW seasons*) since 2005, it will mark its 42nd edition in January 2026. The fair attracts brands and buyers from Europe and around the world. The Japan Observatory (JOB), where our booth will be located, is a special exhibition area showcasing Japan’s high-quality materials and technologies.
The trend for Milano Unica 2027 SS is “MU COSMETIC.” Both textiles and cosmetics centre on the body, aiming to care for it, enhance changes, and increase appeal. At our booth, we will exhibit printed samples on a wide variety of fabrics, display works presented at the Milano collections and screen the concept movie for “FOREARTH. Furthermore, we will offer live demonstrations at the “FOREARTH Experience Studio” located at the Kyocera office in Milan, where the production equipment is installed.
Fabrics printed with FOREARTH have previously been presented as collaborative works with fashion brands at Paris Collection, Milano Collection, Tokyo Collection, and other events, receiving high praise from many visitors. This exhibition will be an excellent opportunity to experience firsthand the vivid colour reproduction and the soft hand-feel quality achieved by FOREARTH, an environmentally friendly inkjet textile printer.

■About the Inkjet Textile Printer "FOREARTH": (More information can be found here.)
Traditionally, the textile and fashion industry has relied on large quantities of water during the dyeing processes, including steaming and washing, leading to significant water pollution issues worldwide. Additionally, the problem of excess inventory resulting in large-scale waste has garnered attention and requires urgent action. To address these challenges, Kyocera has developed the FOREARTH printer with the following three key features:
1) Water Free Concept
FOREARTH can reduce water usage during the printing process to nearly zero*, eliminating the need for large preprocessing and steaming equipment traditionally required for dyeing. This significantly contributes to reduced energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
*FOREARTH completes the entire process through printing and drying, achieving a water-free operation during the printing phase. The printer is designed to minimize water usage for maintenance as well, incorporating a circulation belt cleaning system that filters and reuses the cleaning water for conveyor belts. The water usage per kilogram of fabric has been reduced to 0.02 litres (according to our research in 2022).
2) Creative Free
The printer achieves a soft touch that preserves the fabric's texture, enabling high-definition printing on a wide variety of materials, including cotton, silk, polyester, nylon, and blends.
3) Location Free
With dyeing that does not depend on water resources, FOREARTH can be installed anywhere, contributing to reduced logistics costs and inventory through appropriate location and quantity production.
Overview of the FOREARTH Experience Studio
In April 2025, we opened the FOREARTH Experience Studio in Milan, Italy — a showroom where visitors can experience FOREARTH firsthand. The studio allows evaluation of sustainable textile printing through live equipment demonstrations and on-site print sample production. We also offer consultations at the FOREARTH Experience Studio, upon request, for live demonstrations of FOREARTH and for producing print samples.
