How can I avoid automatic paper cassette swapping?

All input sources of the current Kyocera products are initially set to “Paper Type” and selection by “Cassette 1 or Cassette 2” is effectively disabled.
This means, that the user does not select the paper cassette, but the paper type.
As the default setting is on “normal paper” the printer swaps between these two cassettes whenever the cassette contains the same paper type.

To avoid the paper cassette swapping, please follow the following steps:
1. Go to menu “Printer Menu“
2. Select “Paper Source”
3. For one cassette you select “Plain”, and for the other cassette you select “Manual”

If your application does not support the paper type, you can select the priority regarding the paper cassette by typing the following Prescribe formula (not possible for PCL-XL and KPDL emulations).
Please type the following command into the DOS-Box. For this, the printer requires a parallel connection.

Echo !R! FRPO X9,1; STAT1; EXIT;>lpt1
On the status report, the parameter “X9” should have “1”.
