KYOCERA Document Solutions achieved ISO 14001:2004 which is the international standard for environmental management systems. This highlights KYOCERA’s commitment to considering the environmental consequences of all processes and business practices internationally. The achievement of this award demonstrates that KYOCERA has a sustainable environmental management strategy.
Starting with KYOCERA Document Solutions Tamaki Plant acquired ISO 14001 certification in October 1996, all business sites in Japan acquired ISO 14001 certification as of October 2004. All other business sites outside Japan, except newly-established sites, have also obtained ISO 14001 certification.
ISO 14001:2004 certification is based on the international standards outlined by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). It specifies requirements for an environmental management system (EMS) to enable an organisation to develop an environmental policy, establish objectives which take in account legal requirements and other requirements to which the organisation subscribes and information about significant environmental aspects.
